After his release from prison, mob boss Dwight “The General” Manfredi is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he builds a new criminal empire with a cast of unlikely characters. Sylvester Stallone’s first starring role in a television series.

The series of opening credits shows various photographic and painted views and landmarks of Oklahoma superimposed on the New York landscape: A statue of the Sioux Indian chief “Touch the Clouds” wearing a battle bonnet and bone breastplate (breastplate) placed at the top of the Brooklyn Bridge The Gold Digger Statue placed over the Statue of Liberty, Route 66’s West Gateway Arch placed over a large “avenue” in Manhattan. In New York City, in the borough of Manhattan, there are several numbered “avenues” that are intersected by smaller numbered streets.

Sylvester Stallone’s old school Rocky style is a badass acting style that is perfect for this series. From the narration to the cruising around Tulsa, it just shows that this role is perfect for him.

Plus, playing the part of someone of his age and style definitely helps to fit in perfectly

As far as the series goes, the build up to the first two episodes was excellent and moved pretty quickly. It will be interesting towards the end of the season to see how good they are and how much of a turnaround they have prepared.

In the meantime, if you’re a Sly fan, you should definitely give this series a shot, even if you’re not, I’d still recommend it for the sake of gangster series
