The show shifts the setting to the present day
Line of Events
Jackal is an elusive killer who earns his living by carrying out hits for the highest fee. He soon meets a tough British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. “Day of the Jackal”; The novel was set in 1963 and involved an assassination attempt on then French President Charles de Gaulle.
Remake of The Day of the Jackal (1973)
Yes, it’s a reboot, but they made it a great new one. Redmayne is fantastic as the cold jackal killer! Excellent scenery in some beautiful parts of Europe.
You will be captivated the whole way
The only detractor is the main female MI6 agent, who is bland and unimaginative. Being one of my favorite books, I was skeptical of another remake after the train wreck that was Bruce Willis’ move. However, Day of the Jackal grabbed my attention from the start and had me locked in for the first five episodes.
Overall, it’s a very entertaining series
Let’s hope the rest of the season matches the first half. The new season of "Silo" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of the month. Check out our November calendar for more!
